The official Twitter of Japan's NHK Anime has revealed on Saturday a teaser visual banner announcing the third season of the TV anime series adaptation of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun) manga series. The announcement was made right after the final episode airing of the recently-concluded second season of the series. No other details were revealed as of writing.
The first season of the anime series was aired last October 2019 and ended March 2020. It consisted of 23 episodes and was animated by Bandai Namco Pictures. A second season was confirmed on March 7 and aired from April 17 to September 11, 2021. A third season was announced right after the final episode of the second season was aired.
The story follows Iruma Suzuki, a 14-year-old human boy, who is sold to a demon by his parents. The demon, known as Sullivan, takes Iruma to the Demon World and officially adopts him as his grandson. He enrolls Iruma in the Babyls School for Demons where he is the headmaster and where Iruma quickly befriends the demons Alice Asmodeus and Clara Valac. However, Sullivan tells Iruma to never reveal that he is human, since he will be eaten if anyone finds out. Iruma then vows to blend in during his time in the Demon World, although he only stands out because of all the situations and adventures that arise.
The manga series was serialized in Akita Shoten's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Champion since March 2017. As of January 8, 2020, the series has been collected in fifteen tankōbon volumes.
