The official Twitter for the TV anime adaptation of Makoto Yukimura's "Vinland Saga" manga series has announced on Wednesday that the anime is receiving a second season. This was announced during the 2nd Anniversary Presentation to celebrate the second year of the TV anime series since its first season broadcast last July 2019. No broadcast date for the new season was revealed.

An teaser visual was also revealed to commemorate the series.
The series' second season is directed by Shuhei Hikita while the characters designs are handled by Takahiko Abiru. Makoto Yukimura is credited for the original work. The animation in charge for the sequel is still unknown as of writing.
The first season of the TV anime series run for 24 episodes rom July to December 2019. It was animated by Wit Studio aired on NHK General TV.
The Vinland Saga anime series is based on the Japanese historical manga written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura which was serialized in the youth-targeted Kodansha'sWeekly Shōnen Magazine before moving to the monthly manga magazine Monthly Afternoon, aimed at young adult men. As of November 2019, the series has been compiled into twenty-three tankobon volume.
Plot:
Thorfinn is son to one of the Vikings’ greatest warriors, but when his father is killed in battle by the mercenary leader Askeladd, he swears to have his revenge. Thorfinn joins Askeladd’s band in order to challenge him to a duel, and ends up caught in the middle of a war for the crown of England.
