Upcoming football anime 'Blue Lock' releases PV of Shouei Barou

Upcoming football anime Blue Lock has released a character promotion video (PV) featuring Shouei Barou (CV: Junichi Suwabe).


The TV anime is scheduled to broadcast in October 2022 and is produced by Studio Eight Bit.

Barou is a member of Team X, the rival of Team Z. He is a tough, arrogant character who calls himself "King of the Pitch."


The titular Blue Lock is the name of a project designed to groom young athletes into professional stardom by making them undergo a regimen designed to create the world's greatest egotist striker. The catch is that those who fail the project will never again be permitted to represent Japan.

Blue Lock (Japanese: ブルーロック) is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.

Synopsis

In 2018, the Japanese national team finished 16th in the FIFA World Cup. As a result, the Japanese Football Union hires the soccer enigma Ego Jinpachi.
