Yomu Mishima and Monda's isekai-comedy light novel series 'Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs (Otomege Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu)' light novel series has been announced on Thursday to receive a television (TV) anime adaptation in April 2022.
The announcement was made through a teaser visual reveal as well as through the anime's first promotional video (PV) posted on the official YouTube channel of KADOKAWA Anime.
The PV features the adaptation's cast members and the staff.
Animation studio ENGI is animating the series. Kazuya Mirua and Shinichi Fukumoto are directing the series with Kenta Ihara composing the series' scripts. Masahiko Suzuki is designing the characters.

The Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs light novel series Yomu Mishima and illustrated by Monda. It has been originally serialized as a web novel on the user-generated site Shōsetsuka ni Narō beginning on October 1, 2017 and ending on October 15, 2019 with a total of 176 chapters. Micro Magazine acquired the rights to publish the novel on their GC Novels imprint on May 30, 2018.
It inspired a manga adaptation illustrated by Jun Shiosato which started its serialization on October 5, 2018 and is published under the Dragon Comics Age imprint by Fujimi Shobo.
Seven Seas Entertainment, which publishes both light novel and manga of the series, describes the story as:
Office worker Leon is reincarnated into a dating sim video game, where women reign supreme and only beautiful men have a seat at the table. But Leon has a secret weapon: he remembers everything from his past life, which includes a complete playthrough of the very game in which he is now trapped. Can Leon spark a revolution to change this new world order?
