Mikoto Yamaguchi and Yuki Sato's psychological thriller series Tomodachi Game is getting a second TV drama adaptation in Japan this 2022.
Starting July 23, 2022, it will broadcast every Saturday on TV Asahi under the title Tomodachi Game R4. The male characters will be played by the members of idol units HiHi Jets and Bishounen (美 少年), who are both from Johnny's Jr., a sub-unit of talent agency Johnny & Associates that focuses on training younger males to debut in future idol groups.
Tomodachi Game (Japanese: トモダチゲーム) originated as a Japanese manga series conceptualized by Mikoto Yamaguchi and written and illustrated by Yuki Sato. It has been serialized in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine since December 2013. Two live-action films premiered in 2017 as well as the first TV drama directed by Jiro Nagae. The first TV drama aired from April 3, 2017 to April 24, 2017 with a total of four episodes. The TV anime adaptation by studio Okuruto Noboru is currently airing this Spring 2022.

Synopsis
