A new batch of promotional materials have been released for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown (season 2), slated to air in January 2023.

Below is the first key visual. The Christmas Showdown arc follows the Bloody Halloween arc, which was covered in season 1 in 2021.

Since June 19 is the founding anniversary of the Tokyo Manji Gang, below is a commemorative promotional video featuring the main cast on their way to Shibuya, as well as announcing the airing of season 2 in January 2023.

The video is promoting Shibuya because fans in Japan can attend a live event at the Bellesalle Shibuya Garden, also today, June 19. The event comes with photo booths, official merchandise on sale, and costume displays.

In addition, a cast change has been announced for Ken Ryūgūji (Draken). In season 2, he will now be voiced by Masaya Fukunishi, replacing voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki.

The voice change for Draken will apply not just for season 2, but also for the Blu-rays (of season 1) and other future works to be released July 2022 onwards.

Tokyo Revengers (Japanese: 東京卍リベンジャーズ) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine since March 2017. An anime television series adaptation by Liden Films aired from April to September 2021. A live-action film adaptation was released in Japan in July 2021.

Synopsis

The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, a freeter who one day learns his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, as well as her younger brother Naoto, have been killed by the Tokyo Manji Gang. When Takemichi is pushed in front of a train, he teleports exactly 12 years into the past to 2005 and relives his middle school years. Takemichi discovers he can go back and forth time by shaking hands with Naoto, so he continuously time travels to stop a series of incidents revolving around the Tokyo Manji Gang and inevitably Hinata's and Naoto's deaths.
