The adaptation of the hit manga "The Way of the Househusband" is coming back to Netflix with Part 2 of the series.
Set to release to streaming on October 7, the series continues with the adventures of the ex-yakuza Tatsu, aka "The Immortal Dragon", and the chaotic life he leads as a devoted stay-at-home husband to his hardworking wife, Miku. A trailer was released on the official YouTube channel for Netflix Japan, featuring more of the comedic exploits of Tatsu, his daily life, and all the friends he has made along the way. New characters will also be introduced in the brand new episodes
The main voice cast of the series has returned to reprise their roles. Kenjiro Tsuda returns as Tatsu, alongside Shizuka Ito coming back as Miku. J.C. Staff will once again be responsible for the animation and production of the anime. Voice actors Tomokazu Sugita and Subaru Kimura will also join the cast as new characters. The series will return with five brand new episodes, and will also include a brand new live-action adaptation of the manga featuring Kenjiro Tsuda reprising his role as the main character Tatsu. The live-action adaptation is set to release alongside the Part 2 of the series.
The upcoming live-action adaptation featuring Kenjiro Tsuda will be the second live-action drama inspired by the manga. A previous live drama was released to Nippon TV on October 11, 2020, starring Hiroshi Tamaki in the starring role as Tatsu. This series also inspired a spin-off series called "3-nen Tatsu-gumi: Gokushufu-sensei", which is a reimagining of Tatsu as a teacher to a home-economics class, was released to Hulu Japan on November 8, 2020 and featured Hiroshi Tamaki in the same role.
"The Way of the Househusband" is a slice-of-life comedy web manga, written and illustrated by Kousuke Oono and published by Shinchosha on their web platform Kurage Bunch. It tells the story of the most dangerous and most feared gangster in the criminal underworld, "The Immortal Dragon" aka Tatsu. Suddenly disappearing from the criminal lifestyle, he returns as a stay-at-home husband, devoted to his wife Miku. The manga chronicles the many comedic adventures Tatsu has as he tries to be the best husband he can be, and the many humorous blunders he faces as the cutthroat lifestyle, and the many people it brings, he once led creates some hilarious moments when applied to the monotony of daily life.
