Spinoff manga 'Blue Lock -EPISODE Nagi-' begins serialization in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine

The protagonist of Blue Lock -EPISODE Nagi- is Seishiro Nagi, who discovers football through his friend Reo Mikage.

The football manga Blue Lock now has a spinoff series titled Blue Lock -EPISODE Nagi-


The spinoff manga begins serialization on the July 2022 issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine which goes on sale in Japan today, June 9, 2022.

The protagonist of Blue Lock -EPISODE Nagi- is Seishiro Nagi, who is a supporting character in the parent series.


Nagi is a high school sophomore whose catchphrase is 「めんどくさい」 (Romaji: Mendokusai) which is a way of saying something is a "pain in the ass." One day, his friend Reo Mikage asks him to play football with him, sparking Nagi's interest in the sport. Nagi eventually joins the extremely competitive and high stakes Blue Lock Project.

Blue Lock -EPISODE Nagi- is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro, who is also the author of the parent series Blue Lock. But the spinoff is illustrated by Kouta Sannomiya, the artist of Tesla Note and Seishun Soukanzu. Parent series Blue Lock is illustrated by Yusuke Nomura.


A preview of Blue Lock -EPISODE Nagi- is available on Magazine Pocket (Japanese only).



The TV anime adaptation of parent series Blue Lock is slated to air in October 2022. It is produced by animation studio Eight Bit.
