Manga author Mami Tsumura has announced on Twitter that her series Kotarō Lives Alone (Romaji: Kotarō wa Hitori Gurashi) is inspiring an anime adaptation on Netflix, scheduled to air worldwide in the Spring of 2022.
The anime adaptation features voice actors Rie Kugimiya (釘宮 理恵) as Kotarō and Toshiki Masuda (増田俊樹) as Kano. It will be directed by Tomoe Makino, who also worked on the mystery anime Woodpecker Detective's Office (啄木鳥探偵處, Kitsutsuki Tantei-dokoro).

Kotarō wa Hitori Gurashi (コタローは1人暮らし, "Kotaro Lives Alone") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Mami Tsumura. It has been serialized in Shogakukan's seinen manga magazine Big Comic Superior since March 2015. A Japanese television drama adaptation aired on TV Asahi from April to July 2021, and an original net animation (ONA) anime adaptation by LIDENFILMS will be released worldwide on Netflix in 2022.
