Tetsuya Imai's sci-fi manga Bokura no Yoake (Japanese: ぼくらのよあけ, English: Break of Dawn) has released promotions for an upcoming animated film adaptation this Fall 2022.
The series is set in the year 2049 with boy protagonist Yuma Sawatari and his robot Nanako. Yuma is fascinated by robots and astronomy, and his life takes an interesting turn when a comet approaches Earth.
The teaser video features Yuma standing on the rooftop of his apartment complex in Asagayakita, waiting for something coming from outer space.
The original manga by Imai was first published in 2011 and serialized on Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon. The series has been completed and is compiled into two tankobon volumes.
