The official anime YouTube channel of KADOKAWA has announced on Saturday through a teaser release that TV anime series adaptation of Carlo Zen and Shinobu Shinotsuki's "Saga of Tanya the Evil (Youjo Senki)" light novel series is receiving a second season. A key visual was also revealed by the anime franchise's official Twitter account.

The first season's staff and cast of the anime are reprising their roles for the new season.
The anime is animated by animation studio NUT with Yutaka Uemura serving as the series director. The scripts is written by Kenta Ihara and character designs are being handled by Yuji Hosogoe based on the original designs of Shinobu Shinotsuki. Carlo Zen is credited as the original creator.
The returning cast includes Aoi Yūki as Tanya Degurechaffm, Saori Hayami as Visha
Shinichiro Miki as Rerugen, Tesshō Genda as Rudersdorf, and Houchu Ohtsuka as Zettour.
The series is based on the Japanese manga series written by Carlo Zen and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki. It was originally serialized in the user-generated novel publishing website Arcadia in 2012 and was published by Enterbrain collecting the series into twelve volumes since October 31, 2013.
It inspired a manga series adaptation with illustrations by Chika Toujou which began its serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace magazine from April 26, 2016.
A first-season TV anime series adaptation with 12 episode (13 including a special episode) was aired from January 6 to March 31, 2017.
