Original romcom TV anime Engage Kiss has released its first promotional video. It is scheduled to air on July 2, 2022.
The series has Saekano’s author Fumiaki Maruto as its main writer, with character designs by Tsunako. It is animated by A-1 Pictures.
Engage Kiss takes place in the fictional Bayron City, which floats in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and does not fall under any other country. The city mines the newly discovered energy source Orgonium, thus attracting the attention of demons who cause the so-called D disasters.
Protagonist Shu Ogata (CV: Soma Saito) is a young man living in Bayron City and runs a small PMC (Private Military Company) to defeat the demons. But he's so choosy with his tasks that he always ends up tight on money. A beautiful girl (who turns out to be a demon) named Kisara (CV: Saya Aizawa) helps him make ends meet.
Meanwhile, Shu's ex-girlfriend Ayano Yugiri (CV: Lynn), belongs to the PMC Shu used to work for and still looks out for him. She is not pleased by Kisara's presence.
The featured opening theme in the above PV is 「誰彼スクランブル」 (Romaji: Dare kare scramble) by halca.
