A live-stream program for Cygames’ ‘Princess Connect! Re:Dive’ second TV anime season has unveiled on Friday a new key visual and a promotional video for the upcoming installment. The video also announced the returning cast, production team and January 2022 debut.
The official Twitter page for the upcoming second season has also shared the announcements including the key visual:
Yasuo Iwamoto directs the project. Takaomi Kanasaki acts as chief director and handles the script writing. Character designing includes the team of Mai Watanabe, Satomi Kurita, Lie Jun Yang and Yasuyuki Noda. Music composition is handled by Imajin.
The main cast reprised their roles for the second season:
M.A.O as Pecorine
Miku Ito as Kokkoro
Rika Tachibana as Kyaru [Karyl]
Atsushi Abe as Yuki
The main story is based from Cygames’ RPG game of the same title. The first season of the TV anime adaptation aired on April 2020 with 13 episodes. CygamesPictures was in-charge of the animation. Crunchyroll provided streaming for the first season.
The game also inspired a manga series written by Asahiro Kakashi with illustrations from wEshica/Shogo. It was serialized in Cygames’ manga service app, Cycomics.
Princess Connect! Re:Dive Season 1 Synopsis by MAL:
In the continent of Astraea, a man falls from the sky, possessing no memories other than his name, Yuuki. An elf named Kokkoro finds him, introducing herself as his guide in the world they are about to traverse. With Kokkoro's guidance, Yuuki is able to learn how this world works, from battling monsters to handling currency.
To earn money for their journey, Yuuki and Kokkoro decide to go to a nearby guild association to accept a simple quest. In their expedition, they meet Pecorine, a somewhat gluttonous but charming girl skilled in battle. The next day, they also meet Karyl, a cat girl specializing in magic.
After some time, a bond of friendship and camaraderie forms between them, and the four decide to create a guild of their own. As they continue their adventures, they explore the world, meet new people, and will perhaps uncover the mysteries behind Yuuki's missing memories.
