Production company Twin Engine has revealed a teaser video for their first original TV anime Bucchigire! scheduled to air in July 2022.
The anime is directed and written by Tetsuo Hirakawa (Horimiya), with character concepts by Hiroyuki Takei (Shaman King).
The series is animated by Geno Studio.
The story is set during the age of samurai in Japan and tells the story of a group of criminals selected to serve as doubles for the special police force Shinsengumi. Only one of the original Shinsengumi survives, so the criminals must act as the Shinsengumi to maintain peace and order in feudal Kyoto.
Below is the teaser visual of the unnamed protagonist, illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei.
Cast and other additional information will be released on a later date.
