With the story of Geralt of Rivia set to return soon, Netflix has now released a trailer for fans and audiences for the latest Witcher project in production.
'The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf' is an animated movie spin-off set years before the events of the series. Focusing on Geralt's mentor named Vesemir, the story tells of his origin and who he was before he met Geralt.
The trailer teases audiences with glimpses of a young Vesemir, proud and mostly in it for money. Filled with magic, blood, action, and quips, the film gives viewers a different perspective on the world of The Witcher. According to the official synopsis:
"Escaping from poverty to become a witcher, Vesemir slays monsters for coin and glory, but when a new menace rises, he must face the demons of his past."
The voice behind Vesemir will be Theo James, known for playing the character Four from the Divergent series as well as having voiced Hector from 'Castlevania', another famous Netflix animated production. Alongside James will be Lara Pulver, known for her role as Irene Adler from the BBC adaptation of Sherlock and her voice acting role in the Netflix animated series 'DOTA: Dragon's Blood' which is a loose adaptation of the game 'DOTA'. Studio Mir is responsible for handling the animation.
The film is set to release to streaming on August 23.
