A quick break, softened ice walls, and an all-out brawl. The next matchup looks thrilling!
EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS
Summary
The students take a quick breather after the second match caused a ton of structural damage to the arena. Meanwhile, Endeavor continues his duties as a hero but also tries to move forward as a father. Once the third match begins, the students immediately clash and a wild fight breaks out!
Not-so-secret Relationship
During the break, All Might takes Izuku Midoriya aside for a private conversation about One for All. The talk is a bit more on the serious side up until Katsuki Bakugo barges in reprimanding the two for their unwittingly flaunting their secret bond despite previous attempts at trying to keep things on the down-low. Their not-so-hidden meet-up offers a bit of humor to lighten the mood and maybe even proves that Bakugo truly cares… Maybe!
Shoto Sickness
Endeavor and his crew easily capture a villain but something heavier weighs on the number one hero’s mind: his son Shoto Todoroki. The two barely talk but Endeavor finds a way by sending a friend request online so they can chat. Unfortunately, Shoto is not replying and this irks his dad! This little bit brings some humor and decent development to Endeavor’s character. Funnily enough, the hero’s subordinates definitely notice his behavior and refer to it as “Shoto Sickness”. However, no one can douse this father’s determination to make things right with his estranged children.
No Scout? No Problem!
The third match of the joint training battle begins! Class 1-B’s Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu points out that their team has no scouting abilities and the fight must be head-on! Class 1-A wastes no time and Shoto blasts away with his ice. Unfortunately, members of 1-B are more flexible and cunning than anticipated and their quirks make things extra difficult. Juzo Honenuki’s softening quirk proves to be cumbersome as it greatly limits movement. Sen Kaibara’s gyrate excels in melee combat which allows him to take on Mashirao Ojiro’s tail and martial arts with ease. Pony Tsunotori’s horn cannon allows her to take enemies down from a distance and she immediately targets 1-A’s scout Mezo Shoji. Once again, Class 1-A is struggles early in the fight but Tenya Ida bursts out with his new move and fights back! A big fight is brewing and it looks amazing.
VERDICT
Author's Rating: 8.2/10
This episode had fun bits for some characters on top of the build-up for the third match. The little squabble between All Might, Deku, and Bakugo about their poorly kept secret was entertaining and their dynamic relationship made the characters even more lovable. Endeavor’s short screen-time was surprisingly funny thanks to his DM dilemma involving Shoto. The number one hero worried about friend requests and being seen-zoned? Fantastic. Lastly, Class 1-B’s quirks looked pretty crazy, especially Juzo Honenuki’s, up against Class 1-A. Overall a great episode which ended with fantastic hype for the next fight!
Looks like there’s quite a brawl coming up! How will Class 1-A overcome the movement restrictions? What will 1-B do to keep their opponents separated? Find out next week as the third match of the joint training battle rages on!
