A second promotional video has been released for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Shuichi Shigeno's street racing manga series MF Ghost, slated for 2023. The anime is produced by Felix Film.
The series takes place in the 2020s, when self-driving electric cars have become the norm in Japan and internal combustion cars are instead used for street racing. Protagonist Kanata Livington is a student of legendary downhill and rally racer Takumi Fujiwara (protagonist from the Initial D series). Under the pseudonym "Kanata Katagiri," he returns to Japan to search for his long-lost father.
The second PV features the Toyota 86 and other sports cars driving to Eurobeat music.
Character designs have also been revealed for protagonist Kanata Livington and leading lady Ren Saionji, though their voice actors have not been revealed as of writing.
MF Ghost (Japanese: MFゴースト) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Shuichi Shigeno (the same author of the Initial D series). MF Ghost has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine since September 2017 and has been compiled into 14 tankobon volumes as of May 2022, with volume 14 to be released tomorrow, May 6.
