Megaton-kyuu Musashi is a sci-fi series that takes place after 2118, when alien invaders called Dracters have gained total control over the Earth and wiped out 90 percent of humanity. Survivors live in shelter communities where their everyday lives are monitored, and memories of the invasion are erased. Three teenagers from the shelter are chosen to pilot three machines that combine to form the Musashi robot that is made from a material called Megatronium alloy. The series is a combination of robot action and school life.

Since Megaton-kyuu Musashi is a cross-media project, fans of the series can also enjoy it as an RPG on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game is scheduled to be released in Japan on November 11, 2021.

The teaser PV for the game features combat scenes and customizations.

In the game, players pilot the robots called "Rogues" and deploy special equipment and abilities to defeat massive alien enemies. Story scenes play out in a 2D side-scrolling format, with manga-style cutouts and speech bubbles. Players will be able to pilot several Rogue units and customize the units to their liking. Rogues can swap and upgrade parts, equipment, and even weapons to change their playstyles or improve their capabilities.

The game characters are voiced by a cast of actors who are widely recognized in the anime community, namely:

  • Toshiki Masuda as Yamato Ichidaiji

  • Shunsuke Takeuchi as Ryugo Hijikata

  • Souma Saitou as Teru Asami

  • Kouki Uchiyama as Reiji Amemiya
