Meet the 15-year-old newest rising diva Hinano, the voice behind the theme song for Deemo the Movie

She won the audition and was chosen the winner out of more than 1,400 other singers to perform Yuki Kajiura’s original composition for DEEMO the Movie: Memorial Keys.

Hinano

Hinano, the Grand Prix winner of the audition event "DEEMO THE MOVIE Diva Audition ~ Reiwa Diva Project ~", which attracted about 1,400 applicants, released her major debut work "nocturne" for the film project “DEEMO The Movie: Memorial Keys”.

"nocturne" is the theme song of the movie "DEEMO The Movie: Memorial Keys” or much more known in Japan as "DEEMO Sakura Note -The sound you played still echoes-" released last February 25. The song was written and composed by legendary music composer Yuki Kajiura, who also served as a judge on the audition event of which Hinano received the Grand Prix award.


Hinano was born in Tokyo, Japan on March 8, 2006. When she joined the audition, she was at the age of 14 at that time and sang the song which decorated the ending of the movie. Hinano released her major debut EP "nocturne" on February 23, and the title song's music video is now available on her official YouTube channel.

About DEEMO the Movie: Memorial Keys

DEEMO the Movie: Memorial Keys (DEEMO: Sakura Note) is a film project for the musical rhythm game franchise DEEMO animated and produced by Production I.G and Signal.MD. It is directed by Shuhei Matsushita, with Jun'ichi Fujisaku serving as executive director. Fujisaku and Bun'Ō Fujisawa are handling the series' composition, and Mebachi is in charge of the character designs. Lyricist and musician Yuki Kajiura will compose the film's theme song. The film was originally scheduled to premiere in 2020 but was later postponed to 2021. The film was again postponed and was rescheduled to 2022. It premiered in Japan on February 25, 2022.


The game also inspire a manga series serialized in Ichijinsha's Comic Zero Sum magazine by Haruki Niwa.


The film is based on the rhythm video game DEEMO developed by Taiwanese game developer Rayark. The game was released on iOS and Android mobile platforms on November 13, 2013. In June 2015, "Deemo: Last Recital", an enhanced port for the PlayStation Vita, was released followed by a Nintendo Switch port was in September 2017. On November 21, 2019, a remake of the entire game in 3D titled "Deemo -REBORN-" for PlayStation 4 was released and a year after on December 21, 2019, the second installment of the game titled "Deemo II" was announced to be currently in development for Android.
