The film stars 17-year-old Suzume Iwato (CV: Nanoka Hara) who lives in a quiet town in the Kyushu region of southwestern Japan. She meets a young man looking for a "door". Unfortunately, their quest for the said door leads to "Doors of Disaster" appearing across Japan.
