The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Gaku Kuze’s 'Life Lessons with Uramichi-Oniisan' (Uramichi Oniisan) manga has released on Wednesday a new character promotional video highlighting Mitsuo Kumagai. The said series is set to premiere on July 5 in Japan.
The anime series was originally scheduled for a 2020 release but due to some production issues and delays, it was pushed back for July 2021 airing.

The slice-of-life manga follows the story of a man named Uramichi Omota in his 30s who has a dual personality. He is a gymnastics instructor in the educational TV program for children titled “Together with Mama." Despite his fresh and cheerful demeanor, he suffers from emotional instability.
Studio Blanc is in-charge of the animation with Nobuyoshi Nagayama as the director. Touko Machida writes the scripts. Mizuki Takahashi and Yusuke Shibata design the characters. Kisuke Koizumi works as the sound director while music composition is taken care of by Kei Haneoka. Kuze acts as the supervisor of the production.
The opening theme song "ABC Taisō" (ABC Exercise) was performed by singers and voice actors Mamoru Miyano and Nana Mizuki. Miyano also performed the ending theme song “Dream On”.
The manga was first released in 2017 in Ichijinsha and pixiv's digital manga magazine Comic POOL. The series won in the Web Manga category of Niconico's third Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Awards. Kodansha Comics is in-charge of the English release and distribution of the manga.
