The official Twitter of the Editorial Department of Japanese publisher Shueisha has announced on Thursday that the serialization of Gege Akutami's "Jujutsu Kaisen" manga series will undergo hiatus for about a month due to Akutami's poor physical condition. The new chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen in the 28th issue of this year's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will still be published this week (June 14), and the break will start at the 29th issue of the magazine (starting June 21).
In a statement by the editorial department, it was revealed that although Akutami wanted to continue writing, it was decided after discussions with the Jump editorial department that it would be better for Akutami to take a break for a certain period of time to recover the author's physical condition. Akutami stated that he is mentally in a good state and being in a poor physical condition doesn't mean he is sick therefore there's no need for people to worry. It was then added that the break might take about a month.
In addition, a handwritten comment from Akutami is also open to the public included in the published Twitter post.
