The official Twitter of "Hetalia: World☆Stars" has released on Sunday its first promotional video for the TV anime adaptation of the manga series written by Hidekaz Himaruya "Hetalia: World☆Stars" through FRONTIERWORKS's YouTube channel. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2021.
The series considered as the seventh season of the Hetalia series. Studio DEEN, the studio in charge of the animation production of the previous Hetalia series is back for the new anime. It will be directed by Hiroshi Watanabe with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu managing the series' scripts and Mariko Oka is handling the character designs.
The new cast members include Sumire Morohoshi as Czech Republic, Yūsuke Kobayashi as Slovakia, and Yuichiro Umehara as Portugal. The previously announced cast are Daisuke Namikawa as Italy, Hiroki Yasumoto as Germany, Hiroki Takahashi as Japan, Katsuyuki Konishi as America, Noriaki Sugiyama as England, Masaya Onosaka as France, Yasuhiro Takato as Russia, Yuki Kaida as China, Go Inoue as Spain, Akira Sasanuma as Austria, Atsushi Kousaka as Prussia, Megumi Takamoto as Seychelles, Michiko Neya as Hungary, and Rie Kugimiya as Liechtenstein.
The original manga is an offshoot of the original "Hetalia - Axis Powers" series. It was serialized in Shueisha's Jump Comics+ and Shōnen Jump+ on September 22, 2014, and then later entered an indefinite hiatus last 2017 due to undisclosed reason by the author. The manga currently has 4 volumes as of October 2020 and will resume its publication in Winter 2020.
The manga will also resume this Winter 2021 after an indefinite hiatus from 2017.
The series follows the strange personifications of Italy and other nations as they navigate their world.
