In a just concluded YouTube live, the voice acting cast revealed various information about upcoming animated film ONE PIECE FILM RED, scheduled to premiere in Japan on Aug. 6, 2022.
Information include the main trailer, theme song, and major artists contributing to the film.
Instead of Luffy, the film stars idol Uta, the daughter of Shanks, who is the captain of the Red Haired Pirates. Voice actress Kaori Nazuka will be the speaking voice of Uta while Japanese singer Ado will be Uta's singing voice.
The story of ONE PIECE FILM RED takes place on an island where Uta will sing in front of the public for the first time. Her voice is described as otherworldly, and it sparks the interest of Luffy and the gang. This is when they learn that Uta is Shanks' daughter, after which the rest of the story unfolds.
Below is the main trailer, available with English subtitles.
The featured theme song is New Genesis (新時代), sung by Ado (the singing voice of Uta) and composed by Yasutaka Nakata. Below is a special animated music video of the theme song:
In addition to the theme song, seven major artists will be contributing songs/background music to the film, namely, Yasutaka Nakata (music producer of Japanese girl group Perfume), MrsGREENAPPLE (Fire Force), Vaundy (Ranking of Kings), FAKETYPE. (Witch Hat: Majo to Boushi no Waltz), Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan), Yuta Orisaka (Medical Examiner Asagao), and Motohiro Hata (Naruto Shippuden).

About ONE PIECE
ONE PIECE is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It began serialization in July 1997 under Shueisha's shounen manga magazine Weekly Shounen Jump and continues to this day. The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body gained the properties of rubber after unintentionally eating a Devil Fruit. With his crew named the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy explores the Grand Line in search of the world's ultimate treasure known as "One Piece" in order to become the next King of the Pirates.
The manga is one of the best-selling series in history, having broken publishing records. In 2015, ONE PIECE set the Guinness World Record for "the most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author." It was adapted into an anime series by production company Toei Animation, which began broadcasting in Japan in 1999 and has over 1000 episodes as of June 2022.
