Toei Animation has announced on Friday, during its Special Dragon Ball panel at the San Diego Comic Con @ Home 2021 event, that Dragon Ball's newest and second anime film will be titled "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero". A teaser video was revealed during the presentation along with the character designs for the well-beloved characters as well as a new character for the film. The film is scheduled to premiere in 2022.
Present on the panel was Japanese actress and Goku's voice actor Masako Nozawa, Dragon Ball's executive producer Akio Iyoku, editor Akira Toriyama, and producer Norihiro Hayashida. The presented teaser video features Goku (seen above). Toei Animation is producing and animating the film.
The character designs unveiled during the presentation includes:
Piccolo
Krillin
Pan
and a new unnamed character
The presentation also featured a "Cha-la Head Cha-la" performance by Hironobu Kageyama, which is the famous theme song for the Dragon Ball series. The film is the 21st anime film in the overall Dragon Ball franchise.
