The second fan book for Koyoharu Gotouge's "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" manga has been released on Thursday in Japan and it reveals comments from the author itself regarding their team's future plan after the achieving record-breaking milestones by the recent Demon Slayer film sequel "Demon Slayer the Movie - Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train" which premiered in 2020.
Gotouge commented that on their next project, they are thinking of creating a 'science fiction romance comedy' work, an exact opposite genre of their Japanese-style adventure drama "Demon Slayer".
Gotouge stated that it is very interesting to see their impression on old sci-fi movies with aliens since there is a big difference on their perspective when they were a child and now as an adult. The author also commented that they want to draw the genre that will "break creators abs into eight after reading".
The second fan book which started shipping in Japan on February 4, 2021 includes three (3) new one-shot manga as revealed by Shueisha on Monday.
The new one-shot manga are as follows:
"Tanjirō no Kinkyō Hōkokusho" (Report on Tanjiro's Present Condition) - The story follows Tanjiro and the rest of the characters after the events of the manga.
"Totsugeki!! Jigoku no Onitorizai ~Sanzunokawa o Koete~ (Breaking! Hell Demon Report ~Crossing the Far Shore~) - The story follows some of the demons after the events of the manga.
"Kimetsu no Dodai" (The Foundation of Kimetsu) - The story follows Koyoharu Gotouge's real stories from illustrating the manga at the time of its serialization.
Apart from the new contents, the fan book also includes three other one-shot manga that previously appeared in other publications, and will be bundled with the cinema-exclusive freebie "Rengoku Volume 0" manga and the "Nenshi Bangai-han" and "Nenmatsu Bangai-hen" one-shot manga previously published in the 2019 issue of Weekly Shounen JUMP magazine.
