The official Twitter for the TV anime series adaptation of Fujino Ōmori and Suzuhito Yasuda's "Is It Wrong to Pick-up Girls in a Dungeon" light novel series has announced on Sunday that the anime is receiving a fourth season in 2022. The announcement was made through a title logo reveal posted on its Twitter account and through a promotional video (PV) streamed on Warner Bros. Japan Anime's YouTube channel.
The first season of the series animated by J.C.Staff began airing from April 3, 2015 to to June 27, 2015 with a total of 13 episodes. On the same year, its first original video animation (OVA) was released on December 7, 2016. A second season was announced and began airing from July 13, 2019 to September 28, 2019 with 12 episodes. Soon after the last episode, a 3rd season of the anime has been announced. Its 2nd OVA episode was released on January 29, 2020. The recently-concluded third season of the TV anime series adaptation premiered on October 2 in Japan. It was originally scheduled to start broadcasting in July 2020, but the anime production committee delayed the broadcast to "October or later" due to the effects of COVID-19.
The series is based on the Japanese light novel series written by Fujino Ōmori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda. SB Creative has published sixteen volumes since January 2013 under their GA Bunko imprint.
The Danmachi story follows the exploits of Bell Cranel, a 14-year-old solo adventurer under the goddess Hestia. As the only member of the Hestia Familia, He works hard to get the attention of all the ladies that have eyes on him. He looks up to Ais Wallenstein, a famous and powerful swordswoman who once saved his life, and with whom he fell in love. He is unaware that several other girls, deities and mortals alike, also develop affections towards him; most notably Hestia herself, as he also gains allies and improves himself with each new challenge he faces.
