Teaser promotional materials have been released for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Kenichi Kondo's comedy-horror manga Dark Gathering.
The TV anime adaptation will be produced by animation studio OLM and is slated to air in 2023. Below is the first teaser visual.
The series stars college freshman Keitarou Gentouga who struggles with his dislike for ghosts because he has a knack for attracting them. After a spiritual incident that forced him to be a shut-in, he decides to take on a part-time job as a private tutor for Yayoi Houzuki, the cousin of his childhood friend, Eiko Houzuki.
But Keitarou realizes he's in for trouble when Yayoi expresses her desire to encounter spirits, hoping to find the ghost that took her mother away.
Dark Gathering is a comedy-horror manga written and illustrated by Kenichi Kondo. The series is serialized in Jump Square magazine (published by Shueisha) and is currently at nine volumes. The anime adaptation was announced today, July 26, in honor of "Ghost Day" (Romaji: Yuurei no hi, Japanese: 幽霊の日).
