The official Twitter for the TV anime adaptation of Roy and Ririnra's "By the Grace of the Gods (Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko)" light novel series has announced on Friday that the TV anime series is receiving a second season. The announcement was made through an illustration visual post featuring Ryoma Takebayashi holding a title card of the Season 2 announcement. No other details were revealed as of writing.
The first season of the series is animated by Maho Film and is directed by Takeyuki Yanase, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu serving as the story editor and screenwriter, Kaho Deguchi as character designer with Ririnra credited with the original designs, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi composing the music. Azusa Tadokoro performed the series' opening theme song "Yasashii Sekai", while MindaRyn performed the series' ending theme song "Blue Rose knows". The series is aired from October 4 to December 20, 2020 in Japan consisting of 12 episodes.
The series is based on the Japanese light novel series written by Roy and illustrated by Ririnra which began its serialization online in January 2014 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō, with a revised version on September 10, 2015.
The story follows Ryoma Takebayashi, a lonely man who led a life filled with hardships until dying from an unfortunate accident during his sleep. In the afterlife, he is greeted by three gods who grew fond of him and send him to another world as a child, where he makes use his innate knowledge and abilities, combined with the gods' blessings to live a new life filled with challenges and happy meetings.
