The official Twitter for Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa's "Bungou Stray Dogs" franchise has announced on Monday that its manga series will take on a one-month break delaying the release of the manga's next chapter in the March 2021 issue of the Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine scheduled on February 4. The manga will resume in the magazine's April 2021 issue.
The reason for the break are some "circumstances" of which most is due to the upcoming release of the franchise's new light novel series titled "Bungou Stray Dogs: Stormbringer". The story takes place one year after the events of Dazai, Chūya, Fifteen Years Old light novel. The ninth novel series of the franchise is scheduled to be released on February 27, 2021 in Japan.
Bungou Stray Dogs is Japanese seinen manga series written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. It has been serialized since 2012 in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine and has been compiled into 20 tankōbon volumes as of December 2020.
The series was adapted into a TV anime with three seasons. The first season consisting of 12 episodes aired in Japan on April 7, 2016 and ended on June 23 of the same year. The second season consisting of another 12 episodes aired from October 6 until December 22, 2016. Two years after, a third season was announced and aired from April 12, 2019 to June 28 of the same year consisting of 12 episodes. All seasons were produced and animated by Studio BONES under the direction of Takuya Igarashi and scripting by Youji Enokido.
The cast members includes Yūto Uemura as Atsushi Nakajima, Mamoru Miyano as Osamu Dazai, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Doppo Kunikida, Sumire Morohoshi as Kyōka Izumi, Kensho Ono as Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, Kishō Taniyama as Chūya Nakahara, Hiroshi Kamiya as Ranpo Edogawa, Hiroyuki Kagura as Kenji Miyazawa, Yu Shimamura as Akiko Yosano, Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Junichirō Tanizaki, Chiaki Omigawa as Naomi Tanizaki and Rikiya Koyama as Yukichi Fukuzawa.
The series follows the members of the "Armed Detective Agency" throughout their everyday lives. The show mainly focuses on the weretiger Atsushi Nakajima, who joins others gifted with supernatural powers to accomplish different tasks including running a business, solving mysteries, and carrying out missions assigned by the mafia.
