BT21 Cafes return around Japan for summer 2021 with a new adorable theme

Summer 2021 births a new iteration of a BT21 café called ‘My Little Buddy’ and features ‘BT21 Baby’ versions of the iconic characters at six venues; Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Okinawa, and two in Tokyo. Most branches were open since July 22 and will close towards the end of August with one closing in September.

Their menu focuses on Asian cuisine with meals, desserts, and drinks featuring accurate renditions of the characters. The wild summer heat is no match for the lovely BT21 hand-powered fan given to diners plus, if you order a refreshing drink, an original coaster to take home some of the charm.

The entrees are, in true Asian fashion, rice meals that go for 1870 yen per order with each dish showcasing a character in colored rice sculpture form. Check out some of their colorful meals below and spot your favorite characters! First, Koya the koala in a Thai-style gaopao rice.

BT21 was born as a collaborative project between LINE FRIENDS and K-pop mega group BTS back in 2017. Since its launch, the brand has taken the world’s youth by storm thanks to fantastic designs, original concepts, and entertaining narratives. The members of BTS played a significant role in creating the characters where each participated in the creative process which allowed them to give a part of themselves to the fluffy friends. Fans around the globe have continuously supported the brand leading to growth and, eventually, an expansion into the BT21 UNIVERSE.
