The official Twitter for Yūki Yaku and Fly's 'Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki (Jaku-kyara Tomozaki-kun)' light novel series has posted on Friday a teaser video revealing that a new anime project is in the works for the franchise.
The teaser video features main characters Fumiya Tomozaki and Aoi Hinami deciding for the continuation of their 'game' with the option Yes or No, a context to the series' continuation. The video reveals that 'Yes' was chosen and went on to the scene where both made a pinky promise with the caption "Continue to the next stage...".
A teaser visual to commemorate the production announcement of the new anime project was also revealed featuring both characters. No other details were revealed as of writing.
Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki is a Japanese light novel series written by Yuuki Yaku and illustrated by Fly. The novel has been published by Shogakukan under their Gagaga bunko imprint with nine volumes since May 2016.
A manga adaptation with illustrations by Eight Chida has been serialized from December 2017 to February 2021 in Square Enix's shonen manga mangazine Monthly Gangan Joker. It has been collected into six tankobon volumes.
The novel inspired a television (TV) anime series by Project No.9 which was aired from January to March 2021. It was directed by Shinsuke Yanagi, with Fumihiko Shimo handling series composition, Akane Yano designing the characters and Hiromi Mizutani composing the music.
Synopsis:
Tomozaki is one of the best gamers in Japan, and in his opinion, the game of real life is one of the worst. No clear-cut rules for success, horribly balanced, and nothing makes sense. But then he meets a gamer who's just as good as him, and she offers to teach him a few exploits.
