The previously-announced TV anime adaptation of Saizou Harawata and Miyako Kashiwa's "Battle in 5 Seconds After Meeting (Deatte 5-byō de Battle)" manga series has revealed on Wednesday its key visual and first promotional video for the upcoming series along with the announcement of its cast and staff. The anime is scheduled to begin broadcasting on July 12, 2021.
It is animated by SynergySP and Vega Entertainment with Studio A-CAT handling the CG. The series is supervised by Chief director Meigo Naito and is directed by Nobuyoshi Arai. Touko Machida is writing the script, and Tomokatsu Nagasaku and Ikuo Yamakado are designing the characters.

The series' original manga series was serialized in Shogakukan's manga app Manga One since August 2015. It is written by Saizou Harawata with illustrations by Miyako Kashiwa. As of March 2021, the manga has as been collected in sixteen tankōbon volumes and already exceeded 2 million copies in circulation as of November 2020.

It was just a usual morning. Akira Shiroyanagi, a high schooler who loves games and Konpeito (Japanese sweets), is suddenly dragged into a battlefield by a mysterious girl who calls herself Mion. The participants are told that they are "erased from the family register, involved in an experiment, and have gained certain powers."
