Yuugo Kobayashi's "Ao Ashia" football sports manga series has been announced on Friday by its official Twitter account to receive a TV anime adaptation. The anime is currently in production and is revealed to be released somewhere in 2022.
The new anime series is based on the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuugo Kobayashi which was serialized on January 5, 2015 in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine. As of July 2020, it has been collected into 21 volumes by Shogakukan. In 2020, the manga won the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award for the General category.

Ashito Aoi, a third year middle school student from Ehime, meets Tatsuya Fukuda, a "J Youth League" coach. Even though he's still rough around the edges, Ashito has such amazing potential that he gets invited by coach Fukuda to participate in his team's try-outs in Tokyo. The story of the boy who will revolutionize football in Japan begins to unfold.
