Miki Yoshikawa's "A Couple of Cuckoos (Kakkō no Iinazuke)" manga series has been announced on Tuesday to receive a TV anime adaptation set for 2022 release. A promotional video and teaser visual were revealed by its official Twitter account which opened today along with the announcement of the anime's cast and staff.

The series is animated in collaboration with Shin-Ei Animation and Synergy SP with Hiroaki Akagi serving as the chief director and Yoshiyuki Shirahata serving as the series director. The scripts are written by Yasuhiro Nakanishi and the characters are designed by Aya Takano.

Kaito Ishikawa as Nagi Umin
Akari Kitou as Erika Amano
The series is based on the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Miki Yoshikawa which was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shounen Magazine in January 2020. As of January 2021, it has been collected into 5 tankōbon volumes with the first volume releasing in May 15, 2020.
The story follows 17-year old second-year high school student Nagi Umino who learns that he is not the biological child of the family that raised him. On the way to his first meeting with his biological family he meets Erika Amano, a popular internet celebrity who is trying to escape from an arranged marriage. Later, Nagi and Erika discover that their parents had accidentally switched the two after their births and were now aiming to put them in an arranged marriage. To facilitate this, they are made to live in a house owned by Erika's family.
